General Information

The Strathspey & Reel Society of New Hampshire (SRSNH) Scholarship assists qualified

applicants with programs that create learning experiences about

Scottish music. These activities may include:

Attendance at Scottish music schools or festivals

Sponsorship of a workshop

Expenses to study or research traditional music

Attendance at dance schools (lower priority than music events)

Application Process

To apply for an SRSNH grant, fill out the attached application and submit it to the Scholarship

Committee with appropriate supporting documents.

Application Deadlines

The Scholarship Committee sets deadlines each year. In 2007, the deadline is May 1.

Notification

The Committee will notify all applicants by mail within 30 days of the deadline.

Who May Apply

Members in good standing and their minor children are eligible for SRSNH scholarships. No

members of the Board of Directors or the Scholarship Committee of the SRSNH, or their families,

may apply. An applicant must be at least ten years of age and have studied for two years.

Applicants having received grants two years in a row will not be eligible to receive another

consecutive grant.

Areas Not Eligible For Funding

The SRSNH will not provide scholarships for any of the following activities:

Admission to concerts or Highland Games

Purchase of musical instruments

Production of a recording for commercial sale

Grant Usage Deadline

All grants awarded must be used by the end date of the event for which they were granted. If the

activity funded by the grant is not held, or not completed because of accident or health problems,

the total amount of the grant must be returned to the SRSNH, less any applicable deductible.

Grants are not transferable.

Accounting/Reporting

The Scholarship Committee will direct the SRSNH Treasurer to issue a check in the amount of the

grant upon approval. All grant money must be used for the purpose stated on the application form.

Applicants will be asked to write a one-page report about their activity for the Scholarship
