Information
The
Strathspey & Reel Society of New Hampshire (SRSNH) Scholarship assists
qualified
applicants with programs that create learning
experiences about
Scottish music. These activities may include:
Attendance at Scottish music schools or festivals
Sponsorship of a workshop
Expenses to study or research traditional music
Attendance at dance schools (lower priority than
music events)
Application
Process
To
apply for an SRSNH grant, fill out the attached application and submit it to
the Scholarship
Committee with appropriate supporting documents.
Application
Deadlines
The
Scholarship Committee sets deadlines each year. In 2007, the deadline is May 1.
Notification
The
Committee will notify all applicants by mail within 30 days of the deadline.
Who
May Apply
Members
in good standing and their minor children are eligible for SRSNH scholarships.
No
members of the Board of Directors or the Scholarship
Committee of the SRSNH, or their families,
may apply. An applicant must be at least ten years
of age and have studied for two years.
Applicants
having received grants two years in a row will not be eligible to receive
another
consecutive grant.
Areas
Not Eligible For Funding
The
SRSNH will not provide scholarships for any of the following activities:
Admission
to concerts or Highland Games
Purchase
of musical instruments
Production
of a recording for commercial sale
Grant
Usage Deadline
All
grants awarded must be used by the end date of the event for which they were
granted. If the
activity funded by the grant is not held, or not
completed because of accident or health problems,
the total amount of the grant must be returned to
the SRSNH, less any applicable deductible.
Grants
are not transferable.
Accounting/Reporting
The
Scholarship Committee will direct the SRSNH Treasurer to issue a check in the
amount of the
grant upon approval. All grant money must be used for
the purpose stated on the application form.
Applicants
will be asked to write a one-page report about their activity for the
Scholarship
Committee.

Financial
Requirement: (Include an
estimate of the costs for the activity. Grant does not
cover
transportation costs.)
