The Legacy of Marianne Taylor
by srsnh ~ January 11th, 2010
The Retrospective Dance session at this year’s Ralph Page Legacy Dance Weekend (RPLDW) pays tribute to Marianne Taylor. Held on Saturday, January 16 from 1:30-3:00 and hosted by Sylvia Miskoe and Marcie Van Cleave, the Retrospective dance celebrates the life of those who made extraordinary contributions to the New England dance scene. Marianne Taylor, who passed away in August of 2008, brightened every dance floor she stepped onto, and was a true inspiration to all those she taught to dance. Although a wonderful dance teacher, it was Marianne’s passionate love of dance and music that inspired her students the most.
The Latter Day Lizards will provide the music for the Retrospective session. The RPLDW runs from Friday, January 15 through Sunday, January 17. Festival times are: Jan. 15 – 7.30 p.m. – 11 p.m., Jan. 16 – 9 a.m. – 11.30 p.m., Jan. 17 – 9.15 a.m. – 4 p.m. Cost for the entire weekend is $80, or you can attend individual dances by paying a fee at the door.
